Touted as 3rd round talent that fell to the 7th... intelligent and poised... gets into his playbook... has to make small school adjustments to big-time competition... comes from military family (father serves)... played in pro-style offense in college... 4-year starter... owns an obvious confidence gene... doesn’t quite run to his 40-time, but he gets off the line with explosion... quick in his break... a heat-seeker for the open seams and zones... gets DBs to turn their hips with a variety of moves and change of pace in his routes... sells his patterns with authority and is sure when the ball arrives... acrobatic ability widens his catch radius and instills confidence in his QBs... attacks the football... pure hands catcher... works inside and out... lines up anywhere in formation... complete wide receiver toolbox... exudes hands-confidence... owns elite body control... ability to catch the ball wherever it is thrown within his radius... isn’t as explosive as Odell Beckham, but brings the same free-flowing style... worked behind Kendall Wright in rookie campaign (Z and F WR spots)...
FANTASY BREAKDOWN:
McBride just drips confidence on the field and off it. He owns his position and has all the tools mentally and physically to star in the NFL. He's an attacking route runner with a knack of consistently ending up in empty zones. McBride is a creative pass-catcher with velcroe-lined hands; the ball just sticks when it hits his mitts. He is just darn impressive in his college game film, his practice tape and interviews. This is one of those 2nd-year wideouts that could flat out take off if given the opportunity. He entered the NFL the same draft as Titan centerpiece Marcus Mariota and has a chance to build and grow right along with the gifted QB. Eyes on this truly talented Titan WR.
The Straight Talk: Can't say enough about Tre McBride as a talent. He has everything a pro coach wants in a wideout. About the only drawback is he played college ball at William & Mary, but even that negative is shallow. William & Mary utilized a pro-style offense and that can only help McBride transition upward. He has a few roadblocks impeding his path to starters' snaps, namely Kendall Wright and Harry Douglas. Wright has underwhelmed so far and Douglas is a void-filler for the present. McBride has long-term value on an offense that may quickly transform into a dynamic point-scoring unit with Mariota leading the way. Tre McBride... one to eye-up.
